Corporal Schwartz has served with the Rochester Police Department since February 1989. After graduating from Rochester High School, he entered Lincoln Land Community College subsequently earning an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement Administration. Continuing with his education, Jon enrolled at Illinois State University and attained a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Sciences. During his tenure at ISU he was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma (a national criminal justice honor society). After graduation from ISU, he worked with the Sangamon County Juvenile Probation Department for 5 years before joining this Department. Jon was promoted to Corporal in March 1999, he served as a First Line Supervisor until accepting a position as a Instructor of Law Enforcement at the Capitol Area Career Center in September, 2000. He served as a Part-Time Officer until he returned to the Department on a Full-Time status in June, 2004. He serves as a First Line Supervisor, and member of the Leadership Team.
