Officer Justin Harris has served with the
Rochester Police Department since April of 2005. After graduating from
Rochester High School in 1995, he entered Lincoln Land Community College
where he majored in Computer Networking Administration/Computer Science.
Officer Harris served in the United States Marine Corps where he served
in Satellite Fiber Optic Communications. He received an Honorable
Discharge in 1999. After his service in the Marine Corps, he worked as a
Private Investigator and was a Manager in Retail Security where he was
Certified in Interview / Interrogation Techniques. Officer Harris joined
the Rochester Police Department in 2005. He completed his Basic Law
Enforcement Training at the University of Illinois, Police Training
Institute in July of 2005. He is a Certified Juvenile Officer, a
Certified Breath Alcohol Test Operator, and a Certified Field Training
Officer. He is Certified in SWAT / CQB Operations, and Cyber
Terrorism-Identity Theft & Cyber Stalking. Officer Harris is also a
member of the Sangamon County Crisis Intervention Team.
